The IT Manager will establish engineering standards, drive adoption of modern development practices, build reusable capabilities, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nThe successful candidate will balance hands-on technical leadership with team development, stakeholder partnership, and operational excellence.\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Talent Development\nLead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers, integration engineers, and platform specialists.\nEstablish clear goals, expectations, and career development plans for team members.\nFoster a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.\nRecruit, retain, and develop technical talent to meet evolving business and technology needs.\nPromote employee engagement and create an environment where individuals can thrive and grow.\nEnterprise Software Engineering\nLead the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise applications and custom software solutions.\nEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business objectives.\nDrive adoption of modern software engineering practices, including Agile delivery, DevSecOps, automated testing, and CI/CD.\nPromote software quality, maintainability, scalability, and operational resiliency.\nIntegration Engineering\nLead the strategy and delivery of enterprise integrations connecting business applications, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.\nEstablish standards and reusable integration patterns that improve speed, consistency, and reliability.\nEnsure integrations are secure, scalable, supportable, and aligned with data governance requirements.\nPartner with application teams to simplify system connectivity and improve data flow across the enterprise.\nDeveloper Platform & Engineering Enablement\nOwn and evolve enterprise developer platforms and engineering tooling, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and development accelerators.\nDrive adoption of GitHub Enterprise and associated engineering best practices across development teams.\nEstablish and maintain golden-path templates, reusable components, standards, and self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.\nCreate and implement engineering guidelines, policies, and governance that balance consistency with team autonomy.\nEnable engineering teams through documentation, training, coaching, and platform support.\nTechnology Strategy & Governance\nTranslate business and technology strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps and priorities.\nPartner with architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to establish technology standards and best practices.\nEvaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and development tools to improve engineering effectiveness and business outcomes.\nEnsure compliance with security, risk management, audit, and regulatory requirements.\nStakeholder Partnership & Delivery\nBuild strong relationships with business leaders, divisional engineering teams, IT partners, vendors, and managed service providers.\nProvide leadership for project execution, delivery planning, and resource management.\nManage demand intake, prioritization, and capacity planning for the team's services and capabilities.\nCommunicate technology direction, project status, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.\nEnsure delivery commitments are met while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nRequired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education. \n7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, application development, integration engineering, or related technical disciplines.\nExperience leading enterprise software development and system integration initiatives. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, architectural thinking, and decision-making skills.\nExperience with cloud platforms, APIs, integration technologies, and modern application architectures. \nExperience implementing Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software delivery best practices. \nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.\nExperience with workflow automation, AI-enabled capabilities, or process improvement initiatives. \nDemonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. \nExperience managing departmental priorities, budgets, and resource planning.\nPreferred Competencies and Qualifications:\nPrior people leadership experience managing technical teams and developing engineering talent \nExperience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and developer platform enablement. \nExperience establishing engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and development accelerators. \nExperience leading platform engineering or developer experience initiatives. \nExperience leveraging AI-enabled development tools and engineering productivity solutions.\nExperience managing vendors and third-party technology service providers. \nKnowledge of enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and governance practices. \nPreferred Skills and Abilities\nStrong technical leadership capabilities across software engineering, integration engineering, developer platforms, and enterprise technology solutions.\nAbility to communicate complex technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to build effective partnerships with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers while driving technology modernization, development, platform standardization and adoption, and engineering transformation initiatives.\nTechnical Skills - current environment (Preferred)\nStrong C#/.NET experience across both legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET applications\nExperience with SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL, and PL/SQL\nEnterprise integration experience using REST APIs, SOA, JSON, XML, and file-based patterns\nStrong knowledge of enterprise Windows and Linux servers, including application hosting, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and production support\nExperience with Nginx, IIS, secrets management, and secure application configuration\nWorking knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and automated application deployment\nAbility to lead a mixed application portfolio while maintaining reliability, security, and business continuity\nDesired Skillsets - Future-State Engineering (Preferred)\nExperience architecting robust, cloud-first enterprise applications, preferably within Microsoft Azure\nEvent-driven architecture and pub/sub messaging experience using RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or similar\nApplication containerization using Docker and modern container hosting or orchestration platforms\nExperience establishing reusable frameworks, APIs, integration patterns, and golden-path application templates\nStrong DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, resiliency, and modern CI/CD practices\nDemonstrated ability to modernize legacy applications and transform a development team into a scalable enterprise engineering organization\nWorking Environment and Physical Demands\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
