We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.\nSummary of the role\nAs a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\nInjection Molding Setup & Process optimization. \nSupport existing products with sustaining process engineering for a 60+ injection/LSR molding machines, including trouble shooting material, tooling, process, and equipment issues. \nTroubleshooting Defects (flash, splay, burns, shorts, etc.). \nMold Changes, Tooling Maintenance & Start-ups.\nHelp execute cost reduction and continue improvement projects. \nKnowledge of Auxiliary Equipment Diagnostics. \nCoordinate needed quality and productivity improvements with tooling upgrade projects. \nUtilize good program management skills to ensure milestones are met. \nWork with Molding department to develop and manage tooling modifications to positively impact machine utilization, efficiency, and quality. \nThermoplastics/LSR Materials Knowledge.\nScientific Molding (RJG/eDART, DOE, SIM Studies) \nAssist Tool Room and Tool Room Engineering personnel on troubleshooting and continuous improvements projects in injection molding. \nMaintain an ongoing, up to date project list and be prepared to report - detailing issues, corrective actions, cost, and completion dates. \nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nContinue to support needs of production with assignments in the mold hall as required. \nNon-Essential Duties & Responsibilities:\nPerforms other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (i.e. written and/or verbal). \nEducation and Experience Requirements\nMinimum of 15 years’ experience in Plastic Injection Molding and/or 10 years with Associate degree in Engineering.\nFamiliar with medical manufacturing requirements (i.e. FDA-GMP, ISO9001, ISO13485) is preferred.\nPreferred Skills and Abilities\nMust be able to read and understand mechanical drawings (i.e. ANSI Y14.5, ISO 594, and Geometric Tolerancing).\nMust have a general understanding of system troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical problems.\nMust be able to successfully use inspection devices (i.e. microscopes, calipers, gauge pins, CMM, optical, Smart Scope, etc.).\nMust understand and be able to implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools.\nStrong written and oral communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from customers and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.\nGood analytical skills. Ability to apply principles of logical scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.\nAbility to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.\nComputer Skills:\nBasic operating knowledge of PCs, and supporting software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point, etc.).\nFundamental understanding of ERP systems is required (i.e. training will be provided for IFS-Company ERP System).\nWorking Conditions and Physical Demands \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment where the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, vibration and where plastic injected parts are produced and packaged (i.e. plastic dust present, noise up to 80 db, etc.).\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
