We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.\nSummary of the role\nAs a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\n· Development and modification of process parameters for injection molding of plastic components\n· Development and performance of process DoE's for the modification and improvement of injection molding process parameters for specific components\n· Redesign/modify components/systems as required to ensure long-term manufacturing reliability.\n· Coordinates activities with internal tooling engineers to create/ensure the ability to manufacture products on a production scale.\n· Coordinates activities within the Manufacturing department to ensure product/ samples are produced that meet the component/assembly specifications.\n· Perform root cause analysis and resolution of customer complaints where engineering support is required.\n· Maintain/improve existing product designs in support of Manufacturing activities.\n· Creates/modifies BOM’s/Engineering Masters required for production of product.\n· Creates/modifies QC Inspection Procedure work instructions used to monitor component and assembly quality during manufacturing. This includes designing any tests and fixtures required for this purpose.\n· Ensures that engineering documentation is appropriately maintained and controlled according to ISO practices\n· Any other duties/tasks as requested by Manager.\n· Practices good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution and other negative impacts on the environment\nMinimum Requirements\n· Undergraduate Engineering degree required, preferably Plastics and/or Mechanical.\n· Minimum of three years experience in production support/product design role primarily with\ninjection molded parts and assemblies. A degree in Plastics Engineering can be substituted for experience requirement\n· Experience or knowledge with lean/six sigma tools\n· Must be fluent in 3D Modeling of parts and assemblies\n· Firm understanding of the scientific injection molding process and tool design as it relates to part design for manufacturability\nPreferred Requirements\n· Strong written and oral communication skills\n· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under deadlines\n· Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to top management and to implement ideas that improve the process\n· Green or black belt certification\n· Familiarity with Engel and/or Sumitomo Injection Molding Machines\nWorking Conditions and Physical Demands\n· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring sitting, standing, reaching.
