This includes leading the development and execution of our product development roadmaps while working closely with our customers to meet and exceed their expectations in regard to on-time delivery, performance, and quality. The Senior Manager, Product Development Engineering will partner with the commercial and strategy teams to deepen our penetration of our Top customers and strategic partner accounts. As part of the leadership team working on strategic growth and operating plan execution, the Senior Manager, Product Development Engineering will work to position the division, its capabilities and talent, to deliver innovation for our products and customers for many years to come.\nRole and Responsibilities\nPlans the development activities for a new product development team. \nParticipates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. \nParticipates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. \nEnsures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. \nRegularly interacts with executives/senior managers and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization. \nDirects and controls the activities of a broad functional area through other department managers and/or technical leads.\nCoordinates the system level analysis of interfaces, including mechanical, electrical, software and firmware.\nTypically, will also manage a specific engineering discipline team, in addition to leading a project or program.\nMay also coordinate the delivery of customer requested customization ensuring overall system level performance of the modifications/custom features.\nCoordinates and leads resources across global teams as-needed for programs/projects\nOther duties may be assigned as required.\nSkills and Qualifications\nBachelors degree required, Master’s University degree preferred in Engineering, plus 10 or more years of management experience.\nDemonstrated negotiation, relationship management, facilitation, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to establish and maintain high level relationships with end customers.\nBroad experience and practical application of system level interface determination and specification\nStrategic and critical thinking abilities, strong analytical skills, and financial acumen.\nProven leadership skills including team building, collaborating, accountability, strategic and innovative thinking.\nStrong decision-making skills in response to high pressure situations.\nStrong project management skills with ability to plan sequence of events, assess critical path, and actively develop mitigations\nResults oriented approach focused on developing and building high performance teams.\nProven leadership skills including team building, collaborating, accountability, strategic and innovative thinking.\nAbility to manage effectively at all levels, communicate a clear and compelling vision and influence others to support timely achievement of initiatives and goals.\nOffice Environment\nManufacturing environment.
