This role supports industrial network communications, real-time operating systems, product performance, and system functionality. The position also contributes to the evaluation and implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies that improve industrial automation, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency.\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications for embedded systems and industrial controllers.\nParticipate in product architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions throughout the development lifecycle.\nSupport hardware integration, product testing, verification, and validation activities.\nTroubleshoot software and system issues during development, launch, installation, and field support.\nCreate and maintain software specifications, technical documentation, and build procedures.\nEvaluate and implement software technologies, including AI/ML and data-driven solutions, to improve product functionality, diagnostics, and operational performance.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support product innovation and continuous improvement.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.\n6-10 years of embedded software development experience in an industrial or regulated environment.\nDemonstrated experience owning complex software components or subsystems.\nSkills and Abilities\nThe ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated software engineer with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. This individual can manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and work independently in a dynamic environment. Candidates should demonstrate sound engineering judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and a continuous learning mindset.\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 2 years of software development experience using C/C++.\nExperience developing software for embedded systems or real-time operating systems.\nExperience with Linux-based operating systems.\nStrong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including debugging, testing, and version control.\nExperience working in collaborative development environments using Git, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.\nPreferred\nExperience with machine learning, data analytics, or artificial intelligence applications.\nExperience implementing, integrating, or deploying AI/ML models or services within software applications.\nExperience developing software using Python.\nExperience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or ONNX.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies.\nExperience applying AI/ML techniques to industrial automation, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, or process optimization.\nAbility to identify practical AI/ML solutions that improve product functionality, engineering productivity, system reliability, or customer outcomes.\nSkills and Abilities\nKnowledge of software engineering best practices for AI-enabled applications, including model evaluation, validation, monitoring, security, and responsible AI use.\nAbility to analyze complex data and apply data-driven problem-solving techniques.\nInterest in emerging AI, automation, and software development technologies.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.\nMethodical, process-oriented approach to work.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nStrong organizational skills.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Demands\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
