Areas include: buying/planning, components engineering, commodities, supplier diversity, strategic sourcing and vendor relations.\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and talented Supply Chain Engineer to join our team in Bangalore India\nSummary of the role\nWhile working as a Supply Chain Engineer you will:\nIdentify, research, evaluate and select suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.\nBe responsible for the purchasing and inventory management of a group of commodities.\nSupport the commercial and contractual supply chain activities associated with procuring materials and services in support of the manufacture and service of the assigned commodities.\nPurchase the necessary quantities of raw materials, equipment supplies and services at the most economical cost and lowest inventory, for delivery at the time and location specified\nDrive improvements in annual total costs for specific commodities and products\nRole and Responsibilities\nIdentify, research, evaluate and select new suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.\nResponsible for the purchasing and inventory management.\nSourcing of new components and assemblies from new and existing suppliers, working from engineering drawings/technical specifications.\nResponsible for the supplier relationship management.\nMaintain an appropriate meeting schedule with suppliers and provide feedback to management on issues arising.\nLiaise with the S ensuring that any supply chain problems affecting production are resolved efficiently.\nWork closely with R&D on NPI projects to meet product release deadlines.\nLead negotiations of long-term supply contracts\nIdentify specific areas for cost savings, make recommendations and implement improvements where required.\nSkills and Qualifications\nEducated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in an engineering subject.\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in a strategic purchasing role.\nAbility to work from engineering drawings/technical specifications and source for electro mechanical assemblies.\nExperience in material requirements planning (MRP) procurement related to manufacturing is essential.\nDevelopment and management of ‘pull’ or JIT supply chains to support a forecast driven ‘build to order’ customer expectation.\nDemonstrable strategic approach to procurement and best practice.\nStrong commercial acumen with experience of contract negotiation.\nExceptional communication skills and an ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.\nMicrosoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook to an intermediate level.\nTravel\nThe role requires occasional travel to suppliers","description_format":"text","description_chars":2886,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Supply Chain","Industrial Machinery","Test & Measurement Instruments"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-03T06:43:09Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":7,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.247,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":124,"expected_fill_days":30,"reasons":["conf:1","stale_co","velocity","win:tail","crowd:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-04T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/nordson-supply-chain-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/nordson-supply-chain-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-05T02:07:29Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2827,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2173,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-06T00:00:00Z"}}}
