We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.\nOur Budgeting and Accounting Team are a critical part of our organisation, providing support across the breadth of our services to ensure that we’re accountable as a council, and that taxpayers are receiving the best possible value for money. Working in a large and complex environment currently going through a significant period of transformational change, you’ll be part of a talented, proactive team that makes a real difference and is able to support the continual evolution and long-term objectives of the council.\nWe are looking for a Finance Assistant Apprentice to support this work and build a career within the organisation. This post will support Adult Social Care including Public Health and Trading Standards.\nThe level of responsibility and complexity of work will increase as the individual’s knowledge and skill increases. The level of supervision will also reduce appropriately over the training period.\nThis is a full time position with provision to attend the Level 2 Accounting and then Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship training, including revision and assessments. It is anticipated that the apprenticeship will not take much longer than 18-24 months to complete. Once Level 3 is completed, the post holder will be permanently appointed as a Finance Assistant at grade E.\nThe initial starting grade is C (£26,427) and the post holder competency and course achievements will be reviewed after 6-12 months with potential of the grade moving to D (£26,847 to £27,274).
