We look for practical, hands-on experience, not theoretical familiarity.\nThis Role\nWe’re hiring a Technical Accounting Senior Manage r to strengthen and scale Norm Ai’s accounting function. This role will own complex technical accounting matters, help lead the monthly and annual close, and ensure accurate financial reporting across a growing and increasingly complex organization.\nYou will serve as a hands-on accounting leader and trusted partner to Finance and company leadership. You will manage our outsourced bookkeeping team, coordinate closely with external auditors and tax advisors, and build durable accounting policies, processes, and controls. The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgment with an operator’s mindset and is comfortable moving between detailed analysis and cross-functional leadership.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLeadership\nCommunicate complex accounting topics clearly to non-accounting stakeholders and senior leadership.\n\nProvide technical accounting guidance and coaching to internal and outsourced accounting team members.\n\nIdentify risks early, recommend pragmatic solutions, and drive projects through completion in a fast-paced environment.\n\nTechnical Accounting & Financial Reporting\nLead accounting for intercompany transactions, transfer pricing arrangements, consolidations, and eliminations.\n\nResearch, evaluate, and document complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP, including preparing clear technical accounting memoranda and position papers.\n\nSupport accurate and timely financial reporting, including review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement disclosures.\n\nOwn accounting policies and support their consistent application across entities, business lines, and geographies.\n\nMonitor evolving accounting standards and assess their implications for the company.\n\nClose, Controls & Operations\nLead the monthly and annual close processes, with accountability for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.\n\nManage and review the work of the outsourced bookkeeping team, establish clear service expectations, and strengthen review and escalation processes.\n\nDesign, document, and improve scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and close procedures.\n\nPartner with Finance and business stakeholders to translate new products, contracts, legal entities, and transactions into sound accounting conclusions and operational workflows.\n\nAudit, Tax & Cross-Border Matters\nServe as a primary day-to-day partner for external auditors, coordinating requests, supporting audit readiness, and resolving technical accounting questions.\n\nCoordinate with external tax advisors on domestic and international tax matters, including entity structuring, compliance, transfer pricing, and related accounting impacts.\n\nSupport accounting and reporting for international operations, including foreign subsidiaries and cross-border intercompany activity.\n\nMaintain organized, audit-ready support for significant estimates, judgments, transactions, and balances.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nCore Qualifications\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial responsibility for technical accounting, financial reporting, or controllership activities.\n\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.\n\nDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to research, document, and communicate complex accounting conclusions.\n\nExperience partnering directly with external auditors and tax advisors.\n\nStrong analytical, project-management, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the judgment to handle confidential financial information.\n\nDemonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and increase productivity while maintaining accuracy and quality.\n\nNice to Haves\nExperience at a Big Four accounting firm.\n\nExperience with intercompany transactions, consolidations, and eliminations.\n\nExperience in a high-growth technology company, professional services organization, or similarly complex multi-entity environment.\n\nExperience supporting accounting functions within legal, accounting, consulting, or other professional services organizations\n\nExperience supporting international operations and international tax matters.\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nBase salary: $180,000-$205,000 a year\nThe range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position.
