We build foundational hardware and software for the semiconductor industry, critical AI infrastructure, and the broader systems that power our world, in partnership with the world's most advanced institutions. We work as one team across New York City, Silicon Valley (Mountain View), London, Copenhagen, and Seoul.\nThe Role\nNormal builds custom silicon for AI inference. As Head of Silicon Product Engineering, you will own everything that happens between a design being correct and a product being real: packaging, test and ATE, post-silicon validation and bring-up, yield and qualification, OSAT and test-house selection, and production calibration and screening of our memory products.\nThis is a build role. You will stand up the team, the vendor relationships, and the processes that take Normal’s silicon from tape-out through high-volume manufacturing, working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and product to turn architectural intent into a producible, testable, reliable product at scale. You will also be setting precedent: establishing test and calibration methodology for a new silicon program as it matures toward volume.\nWhat You Will Own\nPost-Silicon Strategy: Own end-to-end bring-up, characterization, validation, and debug across multiple silicon generations.\n\nPackaging & Test: Define and drive packaging and test strategy, including ATE program development, test coverage, and test condition optimization for yield, quality, and performance.\n\nOSAT & Test-House Selection: Select, qualify, and manage OSAT and test-house partners; own the relationship through NPI and into high-volume manufacturing, including cost, quality, and yield negotiations.\n\nYield & Qualification: Lead yield learning and qualification efforts from early silicon through production ramp, including root-cause analysis of systematic and random failures.\n\nProduction Calibration & Screening: Own production calibration and screening methodology for our memory products, ensuring performance and reliability targets are met at volume.\n\nTeam Build: Build and lead a high-performing silicon product engineering organization from the ground up, including hiring, process, and tooling.\n\nCross-Functional Feasibility: Partner closely with design, architecture, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are producible, testable, and optimized for cost and yield before they become expensive to change.\n\nData Infrastructure: Build the data analysis practices needed to catch failure mechanisms early: characterization and manufacturing data from wafer acceptance testing, sort, package, and system-level test.\n\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit\n15+ years in semiconductor product/test engineering, with direct ownership of silicon from NPI through high-volume manufacturing.\n\nProven experience selecting and managing OSAT and foundry partners, including cost, quality, and yield negotiations.\n\nDeep hands-on background in packaging, ATE, and post-silicon bring-up and validation.\n\nExperience with production test and screening methodology for complex, high-reliability products.\n\nA track record of building and scaling engineering teams from early stage.\n\nStrong cross-functional fluency with design, architecture, and supply chain organizations.\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\n\nBonus Points\nExperience bringing up test and qualification for a new or unconventional silicon architecture, not just a new generation of a familiar one.\n\nExperience with memory-adjacent product engineering (DRAM, HBM, or custom memory modules).\n\nExperience at an AI or high-performance compute startup where design, verification, and product engineering worked in tight iteration cycles.\n\nComfort operating in an environment where the test methodology is still being invented alongside the hardware.\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nNormal Computing is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.\nAccessibility Accommodations\nNormal Computing is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please let us know at .\nPrivacy Notice\nBy submitting your application, you agree that Normal Computing may collect, use, and store your personal information for employment-related purposes in accordance with our Applicant Privacy Notice.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4817,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":15,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Processors, MCUs & AI Chips","EDA Software","AI Chips & Accelerators"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-22T07:19:08Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 1","filings_12m":1,"filings_prev_12m":3,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":262500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":1}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":67,"reasons":["conf:0","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-24T06:02:35Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/normal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/normal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-24T16:15:59Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":23444,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-25T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":39034},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=39034"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fnormal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fnormal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fnormal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/normal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fnormal-computing-head-of-silicon-product-engineering"}]}
