Produce a quality product in a timely manner that conforms to all written practices.\nJob Responsibilities:\nResponsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to shop blueprints, SOE’s, OMS’s, to AWS specifications.\nWelding processes will include GMAW, GTAW, Arc Stud Welding, and Resistance Welding.\nCuts metal using oxy-acetylene, plasma cutter, or cutting discs following shop blue prints.\nMay be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of AWS.\nMay operate the following: Shear, Chop Saw, Crane, Die Grinder, Notcher, Drill Press, Grinder, Bandsaw, Forklift, and Iron Worker.\nWork in a safe and efficient manner.\nUtilization of lean practices to improve processes and sustain good housekeeping.\nMust be able to wear protective gear and equipment.\nActively supports and synthesizes Nortek’s Core Beliefs: Live Safe, One Team, Own It, Ignite Change, Legacy Now\nMaintains an attitude which consistently represents the organizational culture, including: the mission, vision and core attributes\nOther Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager \nSupports “Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nGeneral sheet metal knowledge\nCapable of lifting 50 lbs\nStanding for long periods on concrete\nQuality Assurance\nAttention to detail\nMust have an energetic, results-oriented perspective and be able to motive your team to sustain excellence.\nExperience in a mixed-model manufacturing environment, using lean principles is preferred.\nThe ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.\nMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nMust be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.\nAbility to read and interpret production schedules.\nAbility to get along well with a variety of personalities and backgrounds.\nAbility to act calmly and complete tasks under stress.\nReliable, dependable, and trustworthy with all actions related\nJob Qualifications:\nRequired:\nMust be at least 18 years old.\nAble to read measuring devices.\nAble to read blueprints.\nMust have knowledge of the tools of the trade.\nAble to lift 50 lbs.\nAble to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete floor.\nAble to work independently and in a team environment.\nAble to pass a weld test.\nAble to follow instructions.\nAble to read, write, speak English.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
