The UX Designer will take ownership of large-scale company initiatives and maintain relationships with Development and Product teams. The UX Designer will develop detailed market analysis data, high-level requirements, and user-centric design language that informs developers and other key stakeholders.\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nTake complex, high-level business and technical requirements and turn them into complete workflows, detailed mockups, and documentation across web, iOS, and Android.\nUse AI to build workflows and prototypes faster, generating and iterating on flows, states, and edge cases, then applying your design judgment to refine them into polished, production-ready experiences.\nBuild polished, high-fidelity interactive prototypes that demonstrate real flows, states, and edge cases, and present them to senior leadership to drive decisions.\nMap end-to-end user journeys and workflows for payment products (e.g., checkout, wallets, disputes, onboarding, money movement), accounting for success, failure, and exception paths.\nPartner with Product Owners to define feature sets and high-level requirements based on user needs, and to simplify and prioritize where requirements are complicated or competing.\nConduct user research and competitive analysis, and develop personas and workflows grounded in customer behavior, especially around trust, security, and financial decision-making.\nDesign with compliance and risk in mind (e.g., PCI, PSD2/SCA, KYC/AML, disclosures, accessibility), working with Legal, Risk, and Compliance partners.\nDesign thoughtful AI-enabled experiences where they add real value, including conversational and agentic interfaces, explainability, user control, and error recovery.\nDevelop and evolve our design language and system, including patterns for AI-driven features, and keep it consistent across products.\nServe as a primary design point of contact for Engineering leads and developers, answering usability questions and approving design and UX quality in the QA process.\nWrite or contribute UX copy and craft clear, user-centric messaging.\nUse AI tools in your own workflow (research synthesis, ideation, prototyping) and share what works with the team.\nEducation and Experience (required):\nBachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Master’s degree.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in a UX Designer role (or Software Engineer role with significant design responsibility).\nPortfolio demonstrating complete web and mobile products, including interactive prototypes and workflows, designed from concept through development completion.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (required):\nProven ability to distill complex requirements into clear, well-structured workflows and fully realized interactive prototypes.\nDemonstrated leadership and comfort owning large-scale projects.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfort instructing and critiquing UI designers.\nSelf-motivated, with experience working with developers, designers, and product managers, both independently and in teams.\nExperience with responsive web design as well as iOS and Android design conventions.\nUnderstanding of iterative development methodologies, including Scrum and Agile.\nExpert understanding of digital design principles and active awareness of trends in web, mobile, and AI-enabled design.\nWorking understanding of designing for AI-powered features, including transparency, trust, and appropriate user control, or a strong point of view on how to do so.\nProficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.\nStrong innovation, creativity, design, and analytical skills.\nPreferred\nExperience in payments, fintech, banking, or other regulated financial products.\nHands-on experience using AI tools or code-assisted prototyping to accelerate design work.\nProficiency in Jira, Principle, and After Effects.\nFamiliarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) in financial contexts.\nAdditional Information: \nDirect Reports: none\nTravel Requirements: 10%\nLicense and Certification Requirements: None\n\nWorking Conditions:\nWorking environment is generally favorable.
