This role combines technical leadership with people management and Agile delivery ownership.\nThesuccessful candidatewill set the vision for operational excellence, manage and develop the internal team, and work closely with Platform, Network, and Infrastructure teamsto build operational excellence. The role will also play a key part in implementing and maturing the company’s scaled Agile Framework across OperationsEngineering, ensuring alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES\nTeam Leadership & Management\nLead, coach, and develop an internal team of Operations Engineers.\n\nSet clear goals, priorities, and expectations for the team.\n\nManage workload and resource allocation across the team.\n\nSupport regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development plans.\n\nBuild a collaborative team culture focused on ownership and accountability.\n\nOperational Ownership & Reliability\nOwn the reliability, performance, and availability of the GPU-accelerated HPC infrastructure from an Operations perspective.\n\nOversee proactive system monitoring, incident trend analysis, and root cause analysis.\n\nDefine, track, and report on key operational metrics.\n\nEnsure strong operational control through effective processes, runbooks, and change management.\n\nDrive proactive improvements in reliability, automation, and performance.\n\nAgile Ways of Working & Framework Oversight\nChampion and oversee the scaled Agile Framework within the Operations function.\n\nCollaborate with Product, Platform, and Network teams to align priorities and manage backlogs.\n\nSupport Agile ceremonies such as planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.\n\nImprove delivery flow, predictability, and cross-team coordination.\n\nEnsure work is prioritised and delivered in line with Agile principles.\n\nProcess, Automation, and Documentation\nOwn the creation and maintenance of operational documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.\n\nDrive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.\n\nPromote best practices in scripting, configuration management, and observability.\n\nMaintain effective knowledge sharing across the team.\n\nStay informed on relevant trends and assess opportunities for improvement.\n\nPeople & Stakeholder Communication\nProvide regular status updates and reporting to leadership.\n\nRepresent Operations in cross-functional planning and strategic discussions.\n\nAct as an escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues.\n\nCoordinate with Platform, Network, and third-party support teams during critical events.\n\nCommunicate clearly to support alignment, risk management, and decision-making.\n\nYOUR QUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\n5+ years in infrastructure/operations, with 2+ years managing a technical team.\n\nAdvanced Linux administration in production, ideally at scale.\n\nProven experience running incident/problem management and working with third-party or external support teams.\n\nHands-on with automation (Ansible or equivalent) and monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus).\n\nExperience with Agile ways of working and exposure to scaled Agile frameworks.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with Platform, Network, and leadership.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience in HPC or GPU-accelerated environments (NVIDIA GPUs, InfiniBand/RDMA, parallel file systems).\n\nScripting skills in Python and/or Bash for automation and tooling.\n\nUnderstanding of performance tuning for HPC/GPU systems.\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tooling.\n\nBackground designing or improving on-call rotations, runbooks, and incident readiness.\n\nWHAT WE OFFER\nWith us, you will work towards the future of HPC: From new, sustainable building methods for data centers to cooling concepts to software solutions for accelerated compute.\nYour approaches count: In official exchange formats or spontaneously at the coffee machine.
