This role sits at the intersection of application development, data engineering, and applied AI-developing scalable systems that leverage RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), LLM evaluation frameworks, and agent-based architectures.\nYou will work closely with platform, data, and product teams to build AI-powered experiences using Azure, Databricks, Postgres, and modern AI/agent frameworks.\n\nMajor Duties:\nAI & Application Development\nBuild end-to-end AI-powered applications (UI + backend services + model orchestration) \nDesign and implement RAG pipelines for enterprise knowledge retrieval and grounding \nDevelop and deploy LLM-based workflows and agents (multi-step reasoning, tool use, orchestration) \nIntegrate models via APIs and hosted platforms (Databricks, Azure AI Foundry, etc.) \nLLM Evaluation & Quality\nDevelop LLM evaluation frameworks (accuracy, hallucination detection, relevance, safety) \nImplement automated testing and benchmarking for prompt chains and agents \nDefine and monitor LLM performance metrics (precision, recall, grounding fidelity) \nSupport experimentation (prompt engineering, model comparisons, fine-tuning readiness) \nData & Backend Engineering\nBuild and optimize data pipelines leveraging Databricks (Spark, Delta) \nDesign and query structured and semi-structured datasets using Postgres \nEnable efficient retrieval layers (vector search, embeddings, indexing strategies) \nSupport data modeling for AI use cases (knowledge bases, feature stores) \nPlatform & Agent Development\nDevelop AI agents within Databricks and Azure ecosystems \nIntegrate orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar) \nBuild reusable services/APIs for agent capabilities (search, summarization, reasoning) \nFull Stack Development\nContribute to lightweight front-end interfaces for AI applications (React or similar) \nBuild backend APIs/services (Python-based frameworks) \nEnsure production readiness (logging, monitoring, scalability, security) \nExperience & Qualification:\n4+ years of relevant experience in AI engineering, building AI applications, LLM, Python.\nB.E/B.Tech or above degree requried.\nWorking with Us\nAs a Northern Trust partner, you will be part of a flexible and collaborative work culture, which has a strong history of financial strength and stability.
