Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will also provide expertise on electrical systems to interfacing groups including SCADA/Operations Performance, Market Operations, Commercial Operations, and IT/OT.\nTravel to sites within Canada and internationally will be required.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain equipment and facility ratings documents and databases.\nSupport protective relay system maintenance, relay settings databases, and calculations.\nCoordinate with external engineering firms and contractors for the preparation of test plans, testing, and generating unit dynamic models and performance validation.\nOversee and review contractor engineering studies that pertain to relay settings development, coordination, and arc flash.\nTrain and communicate with generating station personnel.\nFacilitate NERC and regional reliability compliance programs.\nSupport capital work and outage planning.\nEstablish and further develop maintenance best practices for electrical systems.\nReview test reports and recommend corrective actions.\nSupervise the work of contractors on site.\nParticipate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.\nWho You Are:\nCollaborative: You are committed to our shared success above any individual achievements. You will follow up with others where needed to ensure outstanding information or actions are complete.\nA Strong Communicator: You have exceptional oral and written communication skills and are able to convey your message in a clear and concise manner.\nQualifications and Experience\nPost-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related discipline.\nValid G class driver’s license.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.\nTheoretical and practical understanding of reliability engineering best practices applicable to power generation.\nWorking knowledge of electrical power systems and equipment as well as wind, solar, and thermal energy generation.
