This position will be located at our Aeronautics Sector in Melbourne, FL.\nThe qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Avionics organization.\nThe selected candidate will design, plan, and implement secure IP-based network communications systems for mission-critical aircraft, delivering detailed architecture schematics, hardware/software specifications, and capacity forecasts. The selected candidate will gain experience in IP subnetting, routing protocols such as BDP, OSPF, and EIGRP, hands-on Cisco IOS-XE configuration, and advanced technologies like GRE/IPSEC tunnels, VRF, and VRRP, together with thorough testing and validation of network designs. The selected candidate will maintain technical proficiency across routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways, evaluate emerging communications technologies to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness, and produce comprehensive documentation for short- and long-range network planning.\nThis requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Electronics (T01) or Engineer Electronics (T02)\nBasic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Electronics (T01)\nA candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:\nBe completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by January 2027. \nBe majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or similar STEM degree. \nMust have a US Government Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret prior to starting, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\nBasic Qualifications for an Engineer Electronics (T02)\nA candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:\nBe completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by January 2027 OR is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of related Engineering experience by January 2027.\nBe majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Networking Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or similar STEM degree. \nMust have a US Government Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret prior to starting, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher \nPrevious internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). \nPractical knowledge of functional and physical architecture definition, interface control, and creation of design drawings.\nHands-on involvement in test and verification processes, including creating verification matrices, overseeing hardware/software test, and managing test documentation.\nStrong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier interaction.\nSolid Understanding of IP4 network design, including IP subnetting and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.\nAbility to configure and troubleshoot common network devices; Required: Cisco IOS-XE.\nSolid Understanding of advanced network topics, such as GRE/IPSEC tunnels, VRF, VRRP.\nSolid understanding with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.\nPay Range:\nAssociate Engineer Electronics: $65,800 - $98,800/year\nEngineer Electronics: $79,300 - $118,900/year\ncampusjobs\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
