This position will be located at our Space sector in Gilbert, AZ.\nThe qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Gilbert Mechanical Engineering Department (Structure Analysis).\nRoles and Responsibilities\nBuild finite element models and perform trade studies and analysis to support program schedules\nComplete pre-test structural analysis and support dynamics testing based on program needs\nParticipate in/lead analysis group continuous improvement and training efforts\nOrganize and archive analysis group technical data and documentation\nBasic Qualifications\nA candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:\nBe a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027\nBe majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering\nBe available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.\nBe able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)\nSome finite element, mechanics of materials, dynamics, and vibrations coursework completed\nExperience and success working within teams\nProven ability to multi-task and self-starter able to work independently\nStrong interpersonal skills to drive actions necessary to accomplish assigned tasks\nStrong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources\nTechnical attention to detail on past projects and assignments\nProficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint\nPreferred Qualifications:\nHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher\nProven leadership ability from past experiences\nIntern Pay Range:\nBachelor’s: $18.50 to $33.50 per hour\nMaster’s: $26.25 to $41.50 per hour\nAt Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.\ncampusjobs\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
