As a GNC Engineer: State Estimation and Tracking - Level 3 or Level 4 located in Chandler, AZ, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\nAs a State Estimation and Tracking Engineer, you will develop and test real-time software, algorithms, and 6DOF simulation tools that support missile flight-code design and verification. You will apply Kalman filtering, signal and image processing, sensor fusion, and physics-based modeling to help systems detect, track, and predict hypersonic target trajectories. You will use C++, MATLAB, and Python to build analysis tools and evaluate EO/IR sensor performance, flight dynamics, and simulation results.\nThis position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.\nIn this job, you will:\nDesign, develop, implement, verify, and test software and simulation tool chains supporting missile flight-code development.\nBuild and maintain 6 degree-of-freedom (6DOF) simulations used to design and evaluate missile guidance, navigation, and control capabilities.\nDevelop and enhance real-time state-estimation, tracking, Kalman filtering, and sensor-fusion algorithms.\nApply signal processing and image-processing techniques to remote-sensor and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) data.\nAnalyze EO/IR sensor performance and integrate sensor data to support accurate target detection, tracking, and trajectory prediction.\nDevelop physics-based models and perform flight-dynamics analysis for guided missiles and interceptors.\nSupport the development of capabilities to track hypersonic targets and predict their trajectories for successful interception.\nCreate, maintain, and improve algorithms and analysis tools using C++, MATLAB, and Python.\nUse probability theory and statistics to assess algorithm performance, uncertainty, and tracking accuracy.\nPlan, execute, and analyze simulation experiments, including large Monte Carlo data sets.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to validate technical approaches, resolve performance issues, and mature flight-code solutions.\nDocument analysis methods, simulation results, verification activities, and technical recommendations.\nTravel up to 10% as needed to support program and customer requirements.\nOther duties as assigned\nIf this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team!\nThis position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.\nThis position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.\nBasic Qualifications forLevel 3:\nBachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
