As a Composite Prototype Technician - Level 1 or Level 2 located in Promontory, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.\nThis position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\nWe are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry.\nThe successful candidate will work as part of a team in the Tape Wrap manufacturing facility in the fabrication of carbon/glass nozzle components and ablative structures, using automated and manual textile wrapping machinery and high pressure/temperature autoclaves.\nThis position’s standard work schedule is 4/10s, straight graveyard or dayshift based on company needs.\nJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\nAble to prepare and operate composite wrapping machines and autoclaves, including assembly of starting ramps, mandrels, and application of carbon or glass tape.\nAble to continuously monitor machinery to ensure wrapping is completed according to established planning and procedures.\nSafety performs duties associated with the process which includes the set-up, operation and monitoring of high temperature and high pressure autoclaves.\nAble to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and design specifications.\nParticipates in programs or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling.\nMust pass all job-specific or specialized training programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.\nRequired to perform safe handling of hazardous waste materials for disposal.\nPossess ability to understand and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties. Ethics, compliance, and quality of work are essential to this position.\nMust be able to work shift work to include weekends and holidays.
