This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\nThe Dimensional Calibration Technician calibrates, tests, adjusts, and maintains a wide range of electronic, dimensional, and mechanical test and measuring equipment. This role supports both field and laboratory operations, ensuring equipment traceability to NIST or fundamental constants and adherence to ISO 17025 requirements. The technician works closely with mentors and program teams to meet customer turnaround commitments and quality requirements.\nThis position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off. Start time for this role is 5:30am - 6:00am.\nJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\nCalibrate dimensional test and measuring equipment to conform to established standards.\nTest, calibrate, adjust, and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, force, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.\nSet up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements.\nDisassemble and clean instruments, as required, to perform calibration.\nMonitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and other control procedures.\nIndependently determine and perform operations required to calibrate and certify physical/mechanical Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE), maintaining traceability to NIST or fundamental constants.\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experienc\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance\nundefined\nGeneral purpose dimensional hand tools (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gages, plug and ring gages, pin gages)\nExtensive knowledge and experience using, Including but not limited to:Measuring machines\nLaser systems\nOptical comparators (with Metlogic2 software)\nVision systems\nCoordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)\nHeight gages\nGage blocks\nTorque tools/equipment\nScales and balance\nWeights\nMetTeam software\n\nMix of field and laboratory work.\nMust be willing to work in all weather conditions when performing field calibrations.\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in calibration of electrical, dimensional, thermodynamic, mass, force, pressure, and torque disciplines.\nUnderstanding of ISO 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories), or willingness to develop this knowledge\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to quantify measurement uncertainty.\nAbility to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.\nProficiency with calibration management software (e.g., MetTeam) is a plus.\nEffective communication skills and ability to train other technicians.\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector?
