Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Director of Business Operations 1 is responsible for overseeing day to day business operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that people, processes, and systems are aligned to achieve organizational goals. This role leads cross functional teams, optimizes workflows, manages budgets and resources, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nThis position can be based out of Roy, UT; Huntsville, AL; Northridge, CA; McLean, VA; Linthicum, MD; Plymouth, MN; or Palm Beach Gardens, FL.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperational Leadership & Strategy\nDevelop and execute operational strategies that support the organization’s short and long term objectives.\nTranslate strategic goals into operational plans with clear priorities, metrics, and timelines.\nMonitor operational performance and recommend adjustments to meet or exceed targets.\nProcess Improvement & Efficiency\nAnalyze existing processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce cost.\nEstablish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across departments.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to drive operational excellence.\nPeople Management & Leadership\nLead, mentor, and develop managers and staff within the operations function.\nSet performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and create development plans.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.\nFinancial & Resource Management\nDevelop and manage operational budgets; monitor expenses against plan, to include NCTA and department budgets.\nOptimize allocation of resources (people, tools, vendors) to maximize ROI.\nPartner with Finance to forecast operational needs and support planning cycles.\nCross Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with departments such as Business management, HR, Engineering, and Supply Chain to secure required resources for Future Concepts programs.\nServe as a key point of contact between executive leadership and operational teams.\nLead and/or support cross functional projects and initiatives.\nData & Performance Management\nDefine and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.\nPrepare and present regular operational reports and insights to senior leadership.\nBasic Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field required.\nExperience\n10+ years of progressive experience in operations, program management, or related roles.\n3-5+ years in a leadership position managing teams and budgets.\nDemonstrated success in driving process improvement and operational efficiency.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong leadership and people management skills.\nExcellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.\nProven ability to design and optimize processes and systems.\nStrong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking of programs\nEffective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.\nHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nProficiency with productivity and data tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, ERP/CRM systems).\nAbility to travel up to 25%.\nCurrent U.S. Secret clearance, with ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications\nEducation\nMaster’s degree (MBA or related).\nExperience\nExperience in industry, e.g., manufacturing, professional services, technology, aerospace/defense.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $176,100.00 - $305,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
