The new team member will help develop, enhance and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will work on software systems for mission systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily in C/C++.\nWhat You'll Get To Do:\nThe Embedded Software Engineer will focus on System Security Engineering (SSE) Software (e.g. Cybersecurity, Program Protection). This includes security software development; software integration and test; DevSecOps; and similar subjects. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning and a culture of automation.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nSoftware developer / software integrator for a scrum team focused on SSE software, Cybersecurity, software assurance, secure coding practices, security-focused engineering trade studies, and other security best practices.\nConduct system vulnerability scanning, remediation and patch management activities\nDevelop and execute unit tests and build verification test plans, and track and report test status.\nConduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents.\nActively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end-to-end system point of view.\nWork in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels\nParticipate in the full Software (SW) development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of SW products to our customers\nOperate in an embedded technology development environment working with real-time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems\nWork with multi-disciplinary teams, such as Systems Engineering, Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test, in an Agile SW development environment.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\nU.S Citizenship is required\nMust have a current/active Secret Clearance. Secret Clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of access for continued employment.\nExperience working in C/C++, and/or Python\nExperience with Agile SW development, embedded system programming, SW integration and testing\nExperience in System Security Engineering, Program Protection, or Cybersecurity\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBS in STEM\nExperience in real-time embedded software development knowledge of Radar technologies\nExperience with VxWorks and/or Linux Operating Systems\nExperience with Visual Studio\nExperience with SonarQube and/or other Static Code Analysis tools\nExperience working in a Software Integration Lab with embedded hardware benches\nExperience with the Atlassian tool set, Jenkins, and DevSecOps best practices\nExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
