This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in San Diego, CA.\nThe qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s San Diego Operations Test Engineering Department. The department supports the Communication Systems (CS) Business Unit and Secure Processing and Networking (SPAN) Business Unit within the Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. This position is fulltime onsite and is located at both the Rancho Carmel campus in San Diego and will also support our Spectrum campus in San Diego. This role reports to the Test Engineering Manager in San Diego. Our expertise is in delivering complex communications solutions to enable modern battlefields and support communications missions.\nWhat You'll Get to Do:\nDesign, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment\nTroubleshoot and support RF and digital hardware\nSupport First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries\nAnalyze test data and identify early trends\nCompile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements\nCollaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions\nSupport technicians through troubleshoot and training\nMonitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets\nSupport program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions\nAttend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation finding, and corrective actions\nInterface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management and program support teams\nBasic Qualifications\nHardware Engineer (Level 2)\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 2 or more years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 0 years of experience.\nExperience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams\nExperience with RF test equipment such as an oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer, and signal generators\nExperience with RF/Digital hardware and software\nBasic Understanding of VHDL Concepts & Programming\nHands-on troubleshooting of electrical/electro-mechanical hardware\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs\nUS Citizenship\nPreferred Qualifications:\nU.S. Secret Security Clearance\nExperience with FPGAs, VHDL programming, advanced troubleshooting techniques\nEducation Background in Electrical or Software Engineering\nFamiliarity with Manufacturing Operations\nFamiliarity with the Agile process\nLABVIEW or TestStand Experience\nWhat We Can Offer You:\nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
