This position will require you to be on-site daily in our San Diego, CA office.\n\nWhat You Will Get To Do:\nResposibilities:\nDesigns and plans layout for such processes as hardening, washing, laminating, etching, engraving, polishing, painting, plating, and other material-processing operations. \nPlans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. \nConducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. \nEstablishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment.\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related STEM area with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceor a masters degree. \nProcess Engineering experience .\nExperience with Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), 6 sigma concepts for process development, and control.\nExperience in introducing new processes and equipment into production environment.\nSiemens NX, SolidWorks, and Minitab experience\nExperience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)\nExperience in developing, documenting, and maintaining standardized manufacturing processes.\nExperience with process/procedure development, control, and improvement\nExperience in MS Office software applications\nThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.\nU.S. citizenship is required\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDegree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering.\nExperience reviewing & approving materials and processes\nStrong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities\nExperience in developing and performing equipment maintenance.\nExperience in root cause analysis of material failures and provide effective solutions to production materials issues\nExperienced working on automation of electronic assemblies\nExperience with electronics manufacturing equipment selection and acquisition\nExperience with electromechanical assembly and/or Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing\nStrong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner\nExperience in laser welding, etching, and cutting\nHands on experience in programing, sustaining, and troubleshooting electron mechanical manufacturing equipment\nWorking knowledge of common conformal coating chemistries, materials, and equipment used for Acrylics (AR), Polyurethanes (UR), Silicones (SR), Epoxies (ER) and Parylene (XY) applications.\nRelevant J-STD-001 and military specs/standards experience\nSix Sigma Green/Black Belt\nWhat We Can Offer You:\nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
