Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Engineer Quality to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL.\nThe qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability Division’s Mission Survivability Systems or Electronic Warfare Targeting Business Unit.\nWhat you will get to do:\nDevelop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols for processing materials into semi-finished or finished products. \nPartner with engineering and manufacturing to establish and uphold quality standards. \nDesign, analyze, and implement inspection and testing processes and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests, perform statistical analyses to determine cost and responsibility for non-conforming parts. \nAudit quality systems, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective actions that meet reliability standards and documentation requirements. \nReview contracts/SOWs/drawings to evaluate, interpret, and apply company policies, ISO 9000, AS9102, MIL, IPC, and other standards applicable to designs and processes.\nIdentify and remove barriers to quality improvement through root-cause analysis and corrective-action planning.\nInterface with production-floor roles (inspection, assembly, operations) and communicate clearly with all stakeholders.\nDefine, classify, and control quality characteristics for products, processes, and services; develop and validate control plans and work-instruction updates.\nManage nonconformances across the facility, lead cross-functional containments, to ensure product compliance.\nUse and interpret quality-control tools (flowcharts, Pareto, control charts) and apply benchmarking to drive system-wide improvements.\nInterpret technical drawings and specifications to verify compliance with design requirements\nFacilitate team collaboration using brainstorming, conflict-resolution, and other facilitation techniques.\nMay specialize in design, engineering, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, reliability, inventory control, or R&D as they apply to product or process quality. \nThe ideal candidate must be able to communicate written and verbally in a team environment.\nBasic Qualifications for the Engineer Quality:\nBachelor’s Degree in a related STEM field with minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality, root cause investigation, and/or technical functions in Manufacturing; Master’s Degree in a related STEM field with of 0 years of experience.\nRoot Cause Corrective Actions experience.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.\nU.S. citizenship required\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems\nExperience with advanced application of Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis methods.\nExperience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.\nElectronic and/or Mechanical experience, including inspection methodology and authoring work instructions in a manufacturing environment.\nGreen/Black Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma\nSAP experience in a manufacturing environment\nCertified IPC Specialist (CIS) - IPC-A-610\nCertified IPC Specialist (CIS) - IPC/WHMA-A-620\nCertified auditor\nExperience with at least one of the following standards (IPC, J-Std, MIL-STD) \nActive Secret Clearance.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
