Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.\nElkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Assists Engineers and Technicians with projects through building or procuring test equipment, setup, performing testing and process validations.\nPrimary responsibilities include load testing, pressurization testing, and support for live fire rocket motor testing.\nProvide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks\nGathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data\nConstructs, calibrates, adjusts and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems.\nWorks from schematics, engineering drawings and technical instructions.\nSets up and configures test equipment, systems, test articles, and instrumentation\nPerform tests/experiments and records data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis\nUtilizes various test equipment for data gathering\nReports data in prescribed format\nPerform routine calculations using Excel or other related software and proficient in MS Office\nUse a computer daily to perform testing operations. This includes using Excel and custom software.\nGenerates reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)\nBasic Qualifications Level 2:\nHigh School Diploma and a minimum of two years related experience, or a technology degree / certificate, or military electronics experience.\nExperience with mechanical test equipment and systems, including hydraulic,\npneumatic and electromechanical systems.\nAbility to follow strict safety protocols, elevate concerns, follow highly detailed instructions, document discrepancies and resolve conflicts in instructions, tasks or designs.\nDetail oriented and an ability to remain highly focused during complex test processes.\nMust be a US citizen and meet requirements to obtain a secret security clearance.\nAbility to lift 50 lbs on a routine basis.\nBasic Qualifications Level 3:\nHigh School Diploma and a minimum of four years related experience, or a technology degree / certificate, or military electronics experience.\nHands on experience using soldering techniques and installing, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of instrumentation including but not limited to strain gages, thermocouples, and pressure transducers.\nExperience with mechanical test equipment and systems, including hydraulic,\npneumatic and electromechanical systems.\nAbility to follow strict safety protocols, elevate concerns, follow highly detailed instructions, document discrepancies and resolve conflicts in instructions, tasks or designs.\nDetail oriented and an ability to remain highly focused during complex test processes.\nMust be a US citizen and meet requirements to obtain a secret security clearance.\nAbility to lift 50 lbs on a routine basis.\nStrong fluency in Microsoft Office applications and computer use\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working around energetics.\nExperience with high pressurize and mechanical systems, including installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance.\nExperience reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, operating a variety of test equipment, duties such as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, on electronic equipment, or similar functions.\nThe ability to setup and install complex rocket motor test arrangements using\nengineering direction, drawings and instructions.\nThis position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
