Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking aPrincipal Tooling Engineer 2/3 with a background in EVMS to support our growing business in our Rocket Center, West Virginia location.\nThis position will be located at on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work is available for this position.\nDuties include, but are not limited to:\nCoordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external\nPerforming tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function\nAssist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.\nManaging all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble and validate\nInterface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design\nWork alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved\nWork with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs\nDeveloping tooling concepts, creating/reviewing, and improving manufacturing processes to meet Customer requirements\nReview engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability\nSupport vendors as needed during fabrication\nEVMS Duties\nPerform Control Account Management (CAM) duties\nCoordinate with technical leadership in a cross functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule, and technical objectives\nDevelop and deliver presentations to program stakeholders\nDefine, plan, perform, monitor, control, and complete a variety of project tasks simultaneously\nTrack budget actuals against predictions and financial performance against the full EV performance management baseline, participate in CAM status calls, prepare status for/attend weekly status meeting, provide/enter periodic Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) status, support stakeholder meetings, review Actual Hours reports for time charging accuracy and alignment with IMS status.\nOn a monthly basis: calculate & enter Estimate at Complete (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETCs) into the financial system, analyze EV metrics and generate Variance Reports (VARs) as required, and attend meetings related to forecasting and spend plans for statements of work.\nCoordinate with the scheduling team to develop and execute to an IMS\nCoordinate Earned Value Change Requests (EVCRs) with the Business Management and Scheduling team as needed\nReview labor resources and cost actuals on a weekly basis, initiating action on any discrepancies\nAdhere to all internal processes for Program Management\nPerform schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks\nProvide cost and schedule impacts for engineering change management packages\nPrepare and present at government control account manager meetings\nEnsure Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs) are mapped correctly in the IMS\nManage R/O’s, meeting with program management to evaluate cost and impact.\nCore Competencies\nManufacturing Methods - Knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems). Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies\nProject Management - Successful project management and leadership experience. Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external.\nComputer Aided Design Tools - Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM).\nEngineering Drawings & Specs - Basic ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Basic level understanding of GD&T\nBasic Quali fications:\nLevel 2: Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 0 years of experience medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations. CAM certification.\nLevel 3: Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience OR PhD with 1 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations. CAM certification.\nThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nSTEM Degree\nExperience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)\nDirect Aerospace Tooling experience\nDirect Experience with NX or some CAD\nExperience with Control Account Management and Earned Value Management methodologies.\nExperience with contracts executing full earned value management.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
