Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Propulsion Systems located in Clearfield, UT, is seeking a Manager 1 to lead a Tooling Engineering Team.\nThis position will have responsibility in leading a team of 10 to 12 employees in tooling designer and tooling planner roles. This role is responsible for meeting the technical and safety solutions for tooling for all programs at our Clearfield location. The qualified candidate must be able to lead a group to effectively meet tool requirements for safety, quality, functionality, and manufacturability as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.\nTooling Engineering Design Manager Responsibilities:\nDrive technical excellence by ensuring department meets technical standards.\nSet role and performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and performance appraisals.\nDevelop and mentor team members.\nProvide overall leadership and direction to the department (to include coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating corrective actions if necessary)\nChampion company values, especially safety.\nDrive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations.\nProvide input for cost estimates for technical proposals.\nOversee team's project labor budgets and schedule for assigned efforts.\nResource planning and labor forecasting.\nManage resources to support program schedules, balancing needs, priorities and cost.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR 4 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree with a total of 9. \n5+ years’ experience in technical engineering environment\n1 - 3 years of supervisory, leading, or managerial experience\nMust have good communication and technical presentation skills.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and experience in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).\nKnowledge of designing for manufacturability.\nKnowledge of configuration management and PLM software.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering\nPrior leadership experience in a technical environment.\nProject management experience including responsibility for technical design, budget and schedule.\nExperience designing composite tooling, fixtures, and equipment.\nExperience in Lean Manufacturing, and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement.\nHighly motivated self-starter.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $140,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
