Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Rocket Center, WV.\nThis role designs and plans layout for such processes as hardening, washing, laminating, etching, engraving, polishing, painting, plating, and other material-processing operations. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment.\nThis position is located onsite site at our ABL facility in Rocket Center, WV. There is no opportunity for remote work.\nJob Responsibilities\nDevelop manufacturing processes, work instructions and production layouts required to fabricate the product.\nIdentify process improvements, capture feedback from Operations and incorporate changes into the manufacturing process.\nRespond to design and specification changes by capturing details into the manufacturing process.\nRespond to technical production issues associated with the product being fabricated.\nWork with maintenance staff to troubleshoot and repair production specific equipment.\nGenerate specifications for procurement of new equipment.\nAssist in establishing safety requirements for facilities and equipment.\nWork in a multifunctional team to solve production related issues.\nWork with Quality Engineering to quickly and efficiently resolve MRB items. \nEstablish Key Characteristics for manufacturing/processing and ensure systems are in place to monitor and control them.\nAnalyze processes and equipment for process capabilities and downtime.\nAnalyze yield and scrap rate data to aid in improving processes.\nDetermine root cause and corrective actions for discrepancies.\nGenerate and maintain Statistical Process Control programs for production products.\nWork as part of an Integrated Product Team to support both internal and external customers.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 2+ years of total relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent STEM degree plus 0+ years of relevant experience.\nKnowledge of mechanical manufacturing and production processes.\nAbility to interpret 2D drawings.\nThe ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which US citizenship is a prerequisite.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working in a production or manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of composites fabrication processing including wet filament winding, hand layup, bonding, vacuum bagging and autoclave curing.\nExperience generating written work instructions for production operations.\nFamiliarity with preparation and analysis of statistical data to make processing decision.\nKnowledge of basic mechanical systems and tools and hands on experience.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
