The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is searching for Mechanical Design Engineers in support of rapid growth in the Launcher Hardware organization. You will have the opportunity to be part of an expanding team of dedicated engineers directly supporting the engineering development of innovative launcher hardware for weapons systems on a variety of Navy platforms.This role requires on site presence.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nDevelop designs concept and generate solid models that reflect those concepts\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements\nConduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements\nOversee the generation of engineering drawings using common GD&T practices\nIdentify procurement needs and support fabrication\nProvide assembly checkout and test support\nGenerate task plans and support proposal efforts\nOccasional domestic travel may be required\nThe qualified candidate will possess the following skills:\nGood communication skills, both oral and written\nAbility to work autonomously and in a team environment\nThis Role is contingent on Program award.\nBasic Qualifications for Level 2:\nBachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 2 years relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with no relevant work experience.\nExperience in machine design and drawing generation\nAbility to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule\nUS citizenship required\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with CAD modeling (NX, CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent)\nExperience in ASME Y14.5 GD&T Standard and ASME Y14.100 Dimensioning, Tolerancing, and Engineering Drawing Practices\nExperience in developing design concepts, performing trade studies, and conducting evaluations and analyses\nStrong background in machine design, strength of materials, and materials technology\nExperience in technical presentation\nExperience in production support\nExperience in working with vendors and suppliers\nAn active US Government Secret clearance\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
