Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Principal Integration & Test Engineer (26-418) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System (MDS). It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is also essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.

As a System Integration Engineer on the C2BMC I&T team, you will integrate complex hardware and software, ensure end-to-end system performance, and collaborate across multiple organizations within the Missile Defense System to deliver mission-ready capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Integrate C2BMC hardware and software into testbeds and operational systems, including configuration of virtual machines, networks, and message flows
  • Conduct full system checkouts, verify end-to-end functionality, and ensure readiness for test and operational events
  • Work with various internal and external entities across the Missile Defense System (MDS) to test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures; document results and provide clear, actionable feedback to developers and stakeholders
  • Author Problem Reports (PRs) to document issues, track resolution, and support continuous improvement of system performance and reliability
  • Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files; perform data analysis of input/output and internal message traffic to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes
  • Operate and troubleshoot C2BMC systems during integration activities, ground tests, and other test events in both lab and operational environments
  • Participate in and support technical meetings with National Team groups, other MDS elements, and Government customers, providing system integration insight and technical recommendations
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and verify capabilities, features, and defect resolutions
