In this role, you will partner closely with sector and functional teams to execute external communication initiatives. Candidates must currently hold a Secret clearance. This position will be based in Clearfield, UT; Palmdale, CA; or Melbourne, FL.\nUsing an objectives-based approach, the successful candidate will help formulate compelling stories and external narratives that deliver measurable results.\nThe ideal candidate must be a confident strategic advisor with experience working in a matrix environment, strong external communication skills, and a track record of using disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment to improve outcomes.\nThis position reports to the Division Communications manager.\nYou’ll be a great fit if you:\nAre a creative, self-motivated and collaborative communications strategist who thrives in fast-paced environments, can juggle multiple projects, reprioritize quickly and consistently meet deadlines.\nFocus on prioritization and organization with sharp, scrutinizing attention to detail.\nAre positive, poised and approachable, able to work independently, in partnership with others and with senior leaders.\nAppreciate data and are disciplined about using analytics to measure success, inform recommendations and continuously improve communications plans.\nEnjoy translating complex and technical topics into easily understandable and interesting stories.\nHave event planning and/or project management experience supporting external engagements and initiatives.\nExcel at brainstorming, working alongside a creative team and thinking outside the box to develop innovative approaches - while also knowing when to apply proven, traditional communications tactics to achieve business goals.\nBring a deep passion for our national defense mission.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in prior fields and 3 years of experience.\nMust have and be able to maintain active U.S. Government Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain special program access.\nExperience as a communications advisor and leader, with a focus on external/public relations.\nAbility to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.\nProficient in Associated Press Style.\nProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCommunications and leadership experience in the defense industry preferred.\nAffinity for developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.\nStrong business presence with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with multiple teams and leaders.\nAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and composure.\nPossess a high level of interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude.\nExperience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
