This position will be located in Edwards AFB, CA and will require routine coverage at the Palmdale location.\nThe selected candidate will have a primary focus in testing, but will also contribute in the research, design, analysis, manufacture, and requirements verification associated with aircraft Support Equipment. The position will require a flexible work schedule to complete testing when opportunities are identified to include 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift, 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift, 3x10 (Fri, Sa, Su) 1st shift, and 3x10 (Fri, Sa, Su) 2nd shift.\nThe selected candidate will contribute in the research, design, analysis, manufacture, and testing associated with aircraft Support Equipment.\nEssential Functions:\nPlan, coordinate, and conduct test operations of manufactured Support Equipment on and off aircraft.\n\nAlign support equipment test targets with the flight test organization, NGAS test team, support equipment responsible engineer (RE), and on site customer representatives.\n\nProvide engineering assessment and test results to support equipment management and support the customer briefing for final approval.\n\nMechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment used on military aircraft.\n\nGather data, requirement development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis.\n\nAct as manufacturing liaison during build process of your project to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.\n\nDevelop test plans and perform environmental testing of Support Equipment.\n\nBasic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design as well as basic drafting skills to include a working knowledge of solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).\n\nThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must also be willing to occasionally travel to various site locations to demonstrate the function of the designed Support Equipment.\n*This Position May be offered as a Level 3 or Level 4*\nBasic Qualifications Level 3:\nMust have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of engineering experience.\n\nExperience using CAD software in generating detailed engineering drawings used for manufacturing of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.\n\nMust have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.\n\nBasic Qualifications Level 4:\nMust have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 8 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 6 years of engineering experience.\n\nExperience using CAD software in generating detailed engineering drawings used for manufacturing of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.\n\nMust have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.\n\nPreferred Qualifications Both Levels:\nCurrent Special Access Program (SAP) access.\n\nExperience using FEA software in performance of stress analysis of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to include static and dynamic analysis to MIL-STD-810 requirements.\n\nFAA A&P Certificate or equivalent aircraft maintenance background.\n\nExperience developing manufacturing drawings to GD&T standards.\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
