As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in the Advanced Weapons division, you will be on the forefront of developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting all of our programs for implementing, testing, and extending our STE software.\nThis position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nA successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise with:\nGenerate software documentation.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain existing software for primarily Windows based desktop applications.\nParticipate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities\nUse test equipment to troubleshoot software and hardware.\nBasic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer level (T03) and Sr. Principal Engineer level(T04):\nUS Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.\nFor Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of experience or Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience.\nFor Principal Embedded Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of experience or Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience.\nStrong professional experience developing software in C/C++ on Windows 10, 11, and Linux (preferably CentOS)\nExperience operating oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers\nExperience with MIL-STD-1553, TCP/IP, Serial, and Ethernet network communication protocols\nExperience in deriving software requirements from system requirements; working with SRSs, ICDs, CDRLs\nAdvanced hands-on system troubleshooting and determining root-cause analysis.\nExperience working in a Lab environment or production floor.\nSelf-directed and able to manage your own time with little oversight\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWorking experience in Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.\nExperience with DOORS and/or EPLM.\nExperience working with hardware programmers such as JTAG and ability to set up test equipment to support software development\nExperience in other Object Oriented Programming languages like C#\nExperience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
