This position is on-site daily in our San Diego, CA office from 5:30am to 3pm working a 9/80 schedule\nWhat You Will Get To Do:\nThis position will support production control by maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products. This role compiles records concerning quantity and type of material received, shipped, in stock/inventory, and in production, and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.\nThe Production Controller helps identify potential and actual material shortages and initiates actions to correct these deficiencies. Using knowledge of production and procurement, this role alerts appropriate stakeholders to potential problems and recommends remedial actions.\nResponsibilities:\nTrack inventory levels and monitor inventory in WIP, On-Hold, MRB, and In-Inspection locations.\nWork with Material Planning to ensure materials are ordered in time to support Scheduling and Operations needs.\nPartner closely with shop floor supervisors to optimize WIP flow.\nIssues material through SAP/S4 Hana & EWI systems.\nProcess Parts Replacement Requisitions through SAP/S4 Hana & EWI systems.\nPerform higher-level work order releases through SAP/S4 Hana & EWI systems.\nHandle scrap material and ensure proper disposition.\nDeliver hardware to the next operation/step in the process.\nPerform problem solving and research related to material and product flow.\nReceive Sustainment Modules and move them into WIP for repairs.\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.\nExperience utilizing SAP/S4HANA and EWI (Solumina) systems to track parts through production, meet customer demand, and set priorities for Work In Process (WIP).\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.\nCurrent SAP access or ability to obtain SAP access.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in material expediting in a manufacturing or production environment.\nActive Secret security clearance.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong team player with effective communication skills.\nProven ability to multi-task and prioritize work.\nExperience with SAP/S4HANA and EWI (Solumina)\nFlexibility to work at either Spectrum Center or Rancho Carmel, depending on business needs.\nWhat We Can Offer You:\nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
