This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.\nJob Summary:\nThe Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to a wide variety of chemical and physical analyses on various energetic and inert materials to assess acceptability against defined requirements. They will resolve issues related to testing including troubleshooting, tooling, instrument repair and replacement, Hazards testing and analysis, and will lead or support various investigations of energetic and inert laboratory processes. The successful candidate will work with experienced chemists and technicians who operate analytical test equipment including chromatographic and spectroscopic instruments, viscometers, titrators, particle size analyzers, mechanical testing instruments, and various other instruments and laboratory equipment. A fast-paced laboratory environment offers the flexibility to learn new skill sets of interest while developing expertise in problem solving.\nJob Duties: \nBe familiar with burn rate, viscosity, and other chemical and physical properties testing on propellants to support operational issues \nFabricate specimens and perform testing on inert materials such as rubber, composites, and adhesives \nPerform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and calibration of instruments and processes \nMaintain laboratory infrastructure including instruments and tooling \nDesign and manage experiments to improve processes and solve related issues \nMaintain neat and accurate records to company standards \nCandidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of operational discipline to support clean, safe, and efficient operations \nThis position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.\nBasic Qualifications for Level 3:\nBachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience. - OR - Master’s degree and 3 years or experience.
