Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Inspector 3/4 to join our Defense Systems sector. This position will be in Madison, Alabama and support the Huntsville Manufacturing Center within Combat Systems and Mission readiness division.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process, sampling, First Article Inspections, and final inspection on a variety of complete electromechanical LRUs and systems.
  • Visually inspect for appropriate electrical assembly specifications and standards.
  • Perform inspections using tooling and check lists to complete inspection of sub-assemblies and systems.
  • Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and documentation issues.
  • Support visual and dimensional checks for piece/part conditions that contribute to, or cause, defects for RCCA's.
  • Review metrics, procedures, and techniques used to inspect materials, parts, units, and/or systems at inspection to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Perform ISO Audits as required by audit coordinator for site compliance efforts.
  • Submit contract end item product as required per PrOP & QAD.
  • Interface with customer and government (DCMA) for required in-process inspections through final inspection as well as contract end item submittals and final pack and shipping process.
  • Perform as a Quality Process Control Aide in an AS-9100 process-oriented organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Quality Inspector 3

  • Must have a High School Diploma with 4 years of related work experience in the inspection of one or more areas: electrical, mechanical fabricated parts, or cables and assemblies.

  • Minimum of 1 years Inspection experience

  • SAP experience

  • Quality inspection and electromechanical assembly experience

  • Drawing review experience (ISE/CADSTAR)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Confidential clearance

  • US citizenship, Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Must be able to work on-site in Madison, AL

Quality Inspector 4

  • Must have a High School Diploma with 6 years of related work experience in the inspection of one or more areas: electrical, mechanical fabricated parts, or cables and assemblies.

  • Minimum of 2 years Inspection experience

  • SAP experience

  • Quality inspection and electromechanical assembly experience

  • Drawing review experience (ISE/CADSTAR)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Confidential clearance

  • US citizenship, Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Must be able to work on-site in Madison, AL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dimensional Receiving Inspection of machined parts.

  • Soldering and Electrical Assembly Inspection.

  • Board Assembly Inspection with capabilities of some repair work.

  • Mechanical Assembly Inspection

Primary Level Salary Range: $58,300.00 - $97,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $63,900.00 - $115,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
