This position can be hired as a Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) based on their qualifications in one or more of the following 3 disciplines: (1) Systems Design (2) Modeling & Simulation, and (3) Integration & Test.\nThis position is part of the Space Sectors’ Eastern Region SEIT Engineering Organization located at Rolling Meadows, IL.\nSystems Design Tasking can include:\nSEIT Lead & Cost Account Management\nCreating and refining Model Based System Engineering products (System behavioral models, Use Case realizations, State Machines, etc.)\nGeneration and update of specifications in DOORS, including requirements traceability and dxl script development\nCapability assessments to predict requirement compliance\nFunctional algorithm development\nRisk assessment and burn down of mitigation steps\nGenerating and reporting system Technical Performance Measures\nPresenting analysis that shapes the system design and obtaining end-customer buy-in\nInterface development and documentation\nModeling & Simulation Tasking can include:\nSoftware development of physics-based in-house models and algorithms\nPerform analysis and trades of product line architectures using analytical models and mission level simulations\nFunctional algorithm development\nAuthoring technical documentation such as white papers, proposal technical volumes, program milestone briefings (i.e. SRR, PDR, CDR,…), systems engineering design documentation\nPresenting technical analysis to multiple stakeholders\nCreating and refining Model Based Systems Engineering Products (System behavioral models, Use Case realizations, State Machines, etc.)\nIntegration & Test Tasking can include:\nSEIT Lead & Cost Account Management\nSystems: sensors/antennas, transmitters/receivers, optics, and associated lab equipment\nFull life cycle experience developing, integrating, and deploying space systems\nExperience with real-time signal processing\nKnowledge of MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages\nWorking knowledge of Robot Framework, or other test automation frameworks\nWorking knowledge of DOORS and ClearCase/ClearQuest\nExperience creating and executing integration & test and design verification test plans and procedures\nExperience performing system verification and validation\nAgile development experience a plus\nSupporting Systems Integration Labs (SIL) testing\nAbility and willingness to travel\nBasic Qualifications:\nStaff Engineer Systems: BS + 12 years of experience; MS + 10 years of experience; PhD + 7 years of experience\nBS and/or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related technical degree.\nEducational background or experience with signal processing and algorithm development\nProficient with MATLAB or Python object-oriented programing languages\nU.S. citizen with ability to obtain U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDemonstrate history of strong organization and coordination skills (working with cross-functional teams).\nKnowledge of the space domain (e.g. orbital mechanics, remote sensing, etc.)\nStrong RF domain background (link budget, waveform modulation schemes, transceiver technologies, antennas)\nIntegration and test experience; familiarity with signal generators and spectral analyzers\nActive TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph is preferred\n#SpaceEngJobs\n#SpaceSysEngJobs\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
