Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.What You’ll Get To Do\nNorthrop Grumman, Apopka FL designs laser-based ranging and target designation devices for Ground, Airborne and Space clients.\nSpecific duties to include, but are not limited to, the following:\nResponsible for the design, development and integration of products using a Statement of Work, Product Specifications (internal and client-generated), Industry Standards, Military Standards, and adhering to the Northrop Grumman product design methodology.\nReview engineering deliverables for other projects such as schematics, wiring diagrams, part datasheet research, interconnect diagrams, specifications, electrical analysis and trade studies.\nSupport the development, review and/or delivery of the following: Specification Requirement Reviews (SRR), Product Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Technical Readiness Reviews (TRR), CDRLs, SDRLs and additional design artifacts.\nEnsure design/analysis quality by validating that processes and procedures are applied.\nBrief design and/or analysis artifacts to leadership, stakeholders and customers.\nIdentify risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and execute handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risks or realize opportunities.\nAttend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings.\nSupport formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.\nWork in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.\nCoordinate electrical engineering content and work products.\nPossess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively to understand interdependencies that impact electrical requirements and design constraints.\nDemonstrate leadership principles - integrity, respect, organizational skills, communication, etc.\nBasic Qualifications for Staff Electrical Engineer\nBachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience, or 10 years of experience with a master’s degree, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, if determined by the company to meet its business needs.\nExperience with formal management and/or leadership, including performance reviews.\nDemonstrated experience leading cross-organizational collaboration.\nExperience with Cadence Allegro products including schematic, layout, and library design.\nExperience in high-speed and HDI PCB layout techniques.\nKnowledge of EMI/EMC design, fiber, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.\nKnowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter MPLM or equivalent.\nElectrical engineering experience in electrical architecture, interface definition (internal and/or external), cable/harness design and/or power distribution.\nKnowledgeable in creating and executing schedule and technical recovery plans.\nAbility to meet program technical, cost and schedule milestones.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).\nMust be a US Citizen \nAbility to obtain and maintain active DoD Secret Clearance prior to start. \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in the design of laser range-finding devices.\nExperience in FPGA/VHDL development.\nAuthorship and release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.\nFamiliarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.\nExperience in maintaining and reporting status of program activities.\nElectrical Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
