This position is for the 1st shift with a 9/80 work schedule.\nThe primary role involves conducting structural modification stress analysis in a fast-paced environment.\nWe are looking for an engineer who can analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications primarily for metallic structures. Responsibilities include analyzing metallic airframe structures, as well as performing analysis using tools such as FEMAP, NX NASTRAN and other software applications.\nEssential Functions:\nPerform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.\n\nReview completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.\n\nCollaborate effectively with other disciplines during the design development process.\n\nPresent and explain structural issues and solutions clearly to internal management and customers.\n\nMaintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems to support post-production deliveries.\n\nDevelop comprehensive and practical solutions to complex problems that align with program objectives.\n\nEvaluate as-built products for compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.\n\nUtilize structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.\n\nPosition may be filled as either an Engineer (Level 2) OR Principal Engineer (Level 3) depending on the qualifications below.\n Basic Qualifications:\nEngineer Structural: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace structural analysis, or a master’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with no experience required.\n\nPrincipal Engineer Structural: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace structural analysis; a master’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD with no prior experience required.\n\nExperience in bonded composite OR metallic structural analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.\n\nProficiency in structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and large Finite Element Model manipulation.\n\nFamiliarity with the structural application of Finite Element Methodologies.\n\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance; clearance not required to start employment.\n\nMust have the ability to obtain any Program Special access required within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience using FEMAP and NX NASTRAN\n\nExperience working on military aircraft.\n\nKnowledge of MIL-STD regulations as they pertain to aerospace structures.\n\nExperience presenting technical topics and interfacing directly with the customer.\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
