The selected candidate will become a part of our Sector Headquarters Financial Reporting team.\nThis position will report to the Director of Financial Planning and Reporting and perform technical Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting research and other financial analysis as required. This high impact and high visibility role will work closely with the Sector’s division business management and Sector leadership team.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide on call technical accounting guidance.\nResearch and analyze application of accounting standards to complex business transactions.\nDraft white papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations.\nCoordinate research findings and evaluation of alternatives with external auditors.\nPrepare presentations of accounting treatment with recommendations and present to senior finance management.\nUpdate Sector accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and other changes.\nPrepare and present accounting and policy training on an as-needed basis.\nPerform miscellaneous financial analysis as required. \nReview revenue recognition checklists, conclude on treatment and provide guidance on revenue accounting under ASC606.\nReview estimates at completion (EAC)\nOversees sector accounting operations team and processes\nOversees sector Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) function\nJob Qualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nMust have one of the following:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline with a minimum of 9 years of accounting experience\nMaster’s degree in accounting or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance\nMust be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia\nMust be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)\nCPA License \nRecent Big 4 or recognized public accounting firm audit experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nStrong GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience\nGood executive presence with excellent communication skills\nSelf-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment\nPrior experience in Aerospace and/or Defense industry\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
