If you like solving complex challenges and seeing your work deployed around the world with real impact, Northwood is the place to do it.\nRole\nNorthwood's engineers and operators need tools that don't exist off the shelf: release dashboards, build health views, pipeline orchestration, fleet and version visibility across a global ground station network. We're looking for a Full Stack Developer to build them. You will own internal tools end to end, from the API and data layer to the UI, and ship them to an internal customer base of platform, software, hardware, and operations engineers. You'll work within the standards set by the Development lead and partner with Platform Delivery to develop deployment and onboarding workflows. This is a role for someone who likes shipping fast, gathering feedback from users, and building iteratively.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build, and maintain internal web applications and services that support build, release, and engineering workflows.\n\nBuild backend APIs and integrations against GitLab, artifact registries, telemetry stores, and internal platform services.\n\nOwn the full lifecycle of the tools you and others build, including requirements gathering from internal users, implementation, deployment via the platform's GitOps flow, and ongoing support.\n\nContribute to shared internal tooling frameworks, component libraries, and standards.\n\nInstrument tools for observability and traceability.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and design discussions across the Development team.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n3+ years of professional full stack development experience.\n\nProficiency in Python, Rust or Go for backend services and TypeScript for frontend work.\n\nExperience building and consuming REST or gRPC APIs and working with relational databases.\n\nComfort with containers, Git-based workflows, and CI pipelines.\n\nTrack record of shipping working software to real users and iterating on their feedback.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience building internal tools or developer platforms for engineering organizations.\n\nFamiliarity with GitLab APIs, webhook-driven automation, or CI/CD orchestration.\n\nExperience with Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, time-series data, or building operational dashboards.\n\nExposure to Nix, Kubernetes, and GitOps deployment patterns.\n\nDemonstrable proficiency in Rust.\n\nAdditional Information:\nIf you need a reasonable accommodation as part of your application for employment or interviews with us, please let us know.\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.\nNorthwood Space is an Equal Opportunity Employer;
