Here at Nouryon, we partner with some of the most innovative companies in the world to create essential chemistry for a sustainable future\nAbout the job\nThe Reliability Engineer - Mechanical Integrity Focus is responsible for developing and improving maintenance and inspection strategies for fixed equipment and other critical assets in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facility.\nThis role partners closely with the Asset Integrity Coordinator/API Inspector to transform inspection results, asset condition data, and failure history into effective reliability strategies. The position defines preventive and predictive maintenance programs, inspection technologies, and long-term asset integrity plans to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant equipment.\nThe Reliability Engineer supports continuous improvement of the Mechanical Integrity program by applying reliability engineering tools such as Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and risk-based analysis.\nIn your future role as Reliability Engineer, you will\nThis role is critical in maintaining the operation of the facility equipment to provide a safe working environment of personnel and site occupants and ensure continuity of production uptime.\nReliability & Asset Strategy\nDevelop and maintain reliability strategies for fixed equipment including pressure vessels, tanks, piping systems, relief devices, and other critical assets.\nTranslate inspection findings and asset condition data into optimized maintenance strategies and inspection plans.\nDefine preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and integrity.\nMechanical Integrity Program Support\nPartner with the Asset Integrity Coordinator/API Inspector to support the site Mechanical Integrity program.\nEnsure inspection and maintenance strategies align with applicable codes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.\nSupport development and improvement of inspection technologies and condition monitoring methods.\nMaintenance Program Development\nCreate and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and job plans for integrity-critical equipment.\nIdentify opportunities to improve inspection methods, monitoring techniques, and maintenance practices.\nSupport implementation of reliability-centered maintenance approaches.\nRelief Devices Program\nManage and optimize the pressure relief device inspection and calibration program.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.\nTrack calibration intervals, maintenance history, and performance trends.\nData Analysis & Continuous Improvement\nAnalyze equipment performance, inspection data, and failure trends to identify reliability risks.\nLead or support Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) investigations for critical failures.\nPerform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk-based evaluations to prioritize improvement opportunities.\nCapital Planning & Asset Lifecycle Management\nDevelop and maintain the CAPEX roadmap for mechanical integrity and reliability improvements.\nIdentify equipment upgrades, replacements, and inspection technology improvements that enhance safety and reliability.\nSupport justification and prioritization of capital projects related to asset integrity.\nField Support\nProvide technical support during field inspections, troubleshooting activities, and maintenance work.\nParticipate in turnarounds and major maintenance activities related to integrity-critical equipment.\nWork closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance.\nCost Optimization\nIdentify opportunities to improve reliability while reducing lifecycle maintenance costs.\nSupport risk-based decision making to balance cost, safety, and equipment reliability.\nWe believe you bring\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\n5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or mechanical integrity programs in chemical, refinery, or similar industrial environments.\nStrong knowledge of fixed equipment reliability, inspection programs, and maintenance strategies.\nExperience in applying reliability tools such as RCPS, FMEA, and risk-based analysis.\nFamiliarity with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) Mechanical Integrity requirements.\nExperience in PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing facilities.\nKnowledge of API inspection standards (API 510, API 570, API 653).\nFamiliarity with Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.\nExperience with asset management or CMMS systems.\nCertification or training in reliability engineering methodologies.\nCompensation Information\nThe hiring salaryrange for this position ranges from $88,000.00 to $125,600.00, although individuals may eventually progress through the payscale in this role up to $163,300.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals’ qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive annual bonuses.\nEmployees (and their families) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
