Does that sound like you?\n\nAbout the job\nTheTechnology Group Polymer Specialties is responsible for process know-how, process design specifications, implementation of HSE guidelines (process safety) and process optimizations.\nThe key objectives of this position are:\nDevelop and implement options for asset optimization (debottlenecking, capacity improvement, OEE improvement) and drive asset optimization improvements on sites, which can include\nIntroduce new products, new processes and process modifications on sites\nActively pursue and participate in improving current technologies and identifying new technologies\nContact for R&D, checking viability of R&D proposals for implementation on sites\nParticipation in Capex projects, which can include:\nDevelop the process design for capex projects and participate in process design in different project phases (study, BEP, detailed engineering and construction, commissioning and start-up)\nAct as technology licensor, project leader and/or lead process engineer in capex projects\nAssist in commissioning and startup of large capex projects\nDefine and guide plant trials on sites related to capex projects\nAssist sites to comply with HSE guidelines (process safety) and Technology Group standards, which can include\nEvaluation/Auditing of production units and storage areas\nParticipate as process engineer in Hazard Studies\nPrimary area of responsibility is the metal alkyls production site at LaPorte, Texas, but work can include activities for other metal alkyls production sites, for example Rotterdam (Netherlands), Deventer (Netherlands), Jiaxing (China) and other (potential future) production locations.\nBalance between these 3 key objectives is determined by business needs and can result in having to work 100% on one of these objectives.\nIn your future role as the Senior Process Engineer, you will\nIn this role you will support the metal alkyl sites in the Business Unit Polymer Specialties, be involved in capex projects and improve the volume output of the plants. This includes\nDebottlenecking, identify options for capacity or OEE improvement\nBenchmarking of metal alkyl processes across the sites\nActively pursue and participate in improving current technologies and identifying new technologies\nPotentially assist sites to realize implementation of these improvements\nPrepare process modifications and implement new products and processes in cooperation with R&D and the sites\nAct as technology licensor and/or lead process engineer in capex projects\nPrepare process design / basic engineering package for smaller capex projects\nParticipate as process engineer in Hazard Studies\nAssist in commissioning and startup of capex projects (e.g. as CSU manager for smaller projects)\nCollect and drive input from process research and safety research/engineers in capex projects\nDefine and drive plant trials on sites related to capex projects\nInternal contacts:\nProduction sites worldwide (site staff and plant personnel)\nRegional and Global Technology Manager\nRD&I/Technical Development Managers/Sales\nSafety Testing and Modelling group\nExternal contacts:\nSuppliers (hardware/equipment)\nLocal, regional, or national authorities\nExternal engineering companies\nWe believe you bring\n\nMSc Chemical Engineering (Bachelor with additional experience acceptable)\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in process engineering\nOperational experience with batch liquid reactor systems\nExperience as process engineer in capex projects\nGood oral and written communication skills in English language\nTeam player and good communicator\nIndependent, assertive and progressive\nWilling to travel nationally and internationally for the job when needed, on average 10% of the time,typically several days but in rare occasions could be several weeks.\n\nHave we got your interest?\nThis is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Regional Technology Manager- Americas and based in LaPorte, TX\nPlease apply via our online recruitment system.
