Does that sound like you?\nAbout the job:\nThe Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and commercializing new growth opportunities in polymer modification and recycling across Asia. The role focuses on creating new businesses from opportunity identification through first commercial adoption and establishing repeatable business models that can be transferred to Sales for broader market expansion.\nThe role combines technical, market and commercial perspectives to identify unmet customer needs, develop differentiated solutions and lead selected opportunities through validation and commercialization. Working closely with R&D, Technical Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Sales, the Business Development Manager owns selected opportunities until they are commercially proven and ready for broader scale-up.\nIn your future role as a Business Development Manager, you will:\nNew Business Development\nIdentify and develop attractive new markets, applications and unmet customer needs in polymer modification and recycling where Nouryon can create differentiated and profitable growth.\nBuild relationships with key customers, partners, and value-chain participants to create and validate new business opportunities.\nMaintain a focused opportunity portfolio and recommend which opportunities to initiate, accelerate, hold or stop based on strategic fit and business potential.\nNew Solution Commercialization\nDevelop and commercialize solutions that convert selected opportunities into new businesses.\nTranslate validated customer needs into clear technical and commercial requirements.\nLead cross-functional execution with R&D, Technical Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other relevant functions.\nDrive customer trials, technical and commercial validation, value proposition development, and first commercial adoption.\nEstablish the business case, pricing logic, and initial go-to-market model for successful opportunities.\nBusiness Model Development & Transfer\nEstablish repeatable business models that enable successful new businesses to scale beyond initial commercial adoption.\nDefine target customers, application windows, technical packages, commercial models and critical success factors for broader deployment.\nDevelop practical commercial and technical tools, train the Sales organization and transfer mature opportunities to Sales for broader market expansion.\nProvide targeted support after transfer for technically complex or strategically important opportunities.\nWe believe you bring:\nDemonstrated experience developing new business from early-stage opportunity identification through customer validation and first commercial adoption.\nStrong technical understanding of polymer processing, modification, recycling or related applications, with the ability to connect technical possibilities with customer and market needs.\nStrong market and commercial insight, with the ability to understand value chains, identify unmet needs, assess business potential, and define differentiated customer value.\nEntrepreneurial and opportunity-driven mindset, with the curiosity, initiative and persistence to actively hunt for new business opportunities in uncertain and evolving markets.\nStrong commercial judgment and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to mobilize technical, commercial, and operational resources without direct authority.\nAt least five years of relevant experience in business development, commercial, application development or related roles within chemicals, polymers, plastics, additives, compounding or recycling.\nBachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.\nFluent written and spoken English, with willingness to travel frequently.\nBuilds a focused pipeline of validated, strategically relevant new business opportunities.\nConverts selected opportunities into validated customer solutions and first commercial adoption.\nDevelops differentiated solutions with clear customer value and attractive commercial potential.\nEstablishes repeatable business models that can be scaled across customers, applications, or markets.\nEnables effective transfer of mature opportunities to Sales and contributes to profitable growth.\nGood to know:\nThis is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to Business Development Manager Asia-Polymer Catalysts-Polymer Specialties.\nWe look forward to receiving your application!\nWe kindly ask our internal candidates to apply with your Nouryon email via SuccessFactors. \nAbout Nouryon:\nIf you’re looking for your next career move, apply today and join Nouryon’s worldwide team in providing essential solutions that our customers use to manufacture everyday products such as personal care, cleaning, paints and coatings, agriculture and food, pharmaceuticals, and building products.
