This position assists with production activities in a manufacturing environment to optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. The primary duty is grinding oilfield choke parts and maintaining organization of the Weld Shop. Additionally, this position is required to perform a number of other activities within NOV to assist with facility goals.\n PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms grinding of oilfield choke parts using air tools.\nPerforms blasting for oilfield choke parts using a cabinet blaster.\nSets up cabinet blaster and preps surfaces to be blasted.\nMonitors blasting and inspects individual items to verify quality.\nUnder the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced manufacturing employees, responsible for various tasks including but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, and organizing.\nAides other areas, specifically Assembly, Testing, Shipping, and Weld Shop.\nCommunicates with manufacturing employees, supervisors, Production Control, Quality, and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.\nOperates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts as needed.\nUse air & electrical tools as it relates to the job i.e., die grinder, bench grinder, angle grinder.\nCarry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications.\nResponsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).\nParticipate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.\nComply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures\nEnsure compliance of the company’s overall objectives.\nOther duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Manufacturing Manager and/or Plant Manager.\n EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required.\n6 months in a manufacturing atmosphere preferred.\nPrior forklift and lifting device operation experience a plus.\nMust be able to follow written and oral instructions.\nMust be able to comprehend instructions.\nLegible writing skills are preferred.\nCandidates must be able to execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.\nMust be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.\nMust be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.\nMust be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of 8 hours. \nMust be able to use simple measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper, etc.). \nMust be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting.
