Hands-on experience machining, repairing, or re-cutting drilling connections and be comfortable working independently with CNC programming, inspection, and troubleshooting.\n Perform API and Proprietary Thread connection re-cutting using computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine to assure compliance with customer requirements and production of re-cut connection to the acceptable level of quality.\nAbility to plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces adhering to international standards.\nAbility to write or modify existing programs that allow the CNC lathe to cut API, Proprietary or rotary shoulder connections. \nMaintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.\nAbility to observe the machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance, machining and using precision instruments to adjust the machine as needed.\nMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; informing managers of repairs required.\nShould be flexible to work in shop where needed.\nTravel may be required; should be flexible to work in outlying areas in Alberta when needed.\n\n Qualification Requirements:\nHigh school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school OR college diploma in related discipline; or equivalent.\nAbility to understand, utilize, and communicate specialized information in speech and written text.\nDirect or indirect related work experience representing continuous learning is required.\nKnowledge and experience in oilfield tubular and pipe handling will be beneficial.\nMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.\nDocuments actions by completing production and quality logs.\nAbility to work effectively with minimal supervision.\nAbility to meet deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.\nDemonstrated problem solving, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings and diagrams.\nWorking knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and design.\nTechnical Requirements:\nPerform programming at the controls level, set up and operate CNC lathes. Working knowledge of Mazak CNC lathe and Mazatrol programming languages.\nAbility to perform program creation and modification during all phases of production.
