Come and shape the future at NOV.\nPRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign, develop, test, commission, and maintain software and firmware solutions for assigned tasks or subsystems under general guidance.\nTranslate defined requirements into functional implementations, with support from senior or lead engineers as needed. \nTroubleshoot and resolve routine to moderately complex issues across software and control systems, escalating when appropriate. \nContribute to system integration and testing activities, including field commissioning support. \nMaintain clear and accurate software artifacts, including source code, comments, and supporting documentation. \nParticipate in code reviews and apply established best practices and design standards. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, field service) to support project execution. \nSupport continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and standards through feedback and implementation. \nEnsure all work is performed in accordance with NOV’s standard practices and policies, including safety and environmental requirements. \nOther duties as assigned \nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Control Systems Engineering or related field\n3-5 years of relevant experience in software or firmware development. \nWorking knowledge of IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text) and/or C/C++ programming.\nFamiliarity with object-oriented programming concepts and general software design practices. \nBasic understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.\nExposure to industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP) preferred. \nExperience using version control systems and standard development tools preferred. \nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nAbility to successfully complete pre-employment drug test and background check\nAbility to travel up to 25% annually\nConsistent computer work may require 8 or more hours working at a desk \nExtended standing and light lifting up to 50lbs pounds.\nCOMPETITIVE BENEFITS: (visit usbenefits.nov.com for more information about our benefits offerings)\n401(k) Retirement Plan - NOV matches every dollar up to 5% of base pay and overtime for every dollar you invest.\nCompetitive medical plans that are effective your date of hire.
