Day to day, you will work extensively with 3D CAD and contribute across multiple aspects of machinery design - from structures and truck-mounted equipment to power calculations, component selection and the integration of mechanical systems.\nThis is a role with broad engineering exposure rather than a narrow specialist focus. You may work alongside several engineers on different parts of the same complex design, collaborating to ensure the complete system works together effectively. You will also have opportunities to see your engineering work progress beyond the screen through product builds, testing and factory activities.\nAbout the Team\nYou will be part of a collaborative mechanical engineering team working across Kintore and international locations. The team combines independent engineering ownership with regular communication, design coordination and peer review, particularly where several engineers contribute to the same equipment.\nNew team members are supported by an experienced buddy and an onboarding programme covering systems, processes, 3D modelling and engineering best practice. protected by applicable law.\n Design and develop mechanical equipment and components for wireline intervention products, with a particular focus on winches, masts and associated machinery.\nCreate and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation for new and existing product designs.\nDevelop practical engineering solutions in response to customer requirements, product improvements and technical challenges.\nPerform engineering calculations and technical assessments to support design decisions, including structural, mechanical and power-related considerations where applicable.\nReview technical and customer specifications and translate requirements into manufacturable engineering solutions.\nCollaborate with other engineers, manufacturing teams and relevant technical disciplines to coordinate complex equipment designs.\nSupport design verification, product builds, testing and factory acceptance activities.\nInvestigate engineering queries and product issues, identifying and documenting appropriate technical solutions and design changes.\nConsider cost, manufacturability, technical performance and project schedules when making engineering decisions.\nDevelop knowledge of NOV products, engineering processes and applicable industry standards while progressively taking greater ownership of project work. \n Essential Qualifications\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, another relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent engineering qualification.\nExperience or practical knowledge of mechanical or machinery design within an engineering or manufacturing environment.\nExperience using 3D CAD for mechanical design and producing technical engineering drawings.\nAbility to perform and interpret engineering calculations and technical assessments.\nAbility to understand, evaluate and apply technical information to practical engineering problems.\nGood judgement and problem-solving capability, including the ability to work with incomplete information and changing priorities.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with other engineers and cross-functional teams on complex designs.\nEffective organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to work towards project deadlines.\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\nWillingness to learn new products, engineering systems and technical disciplines.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within the energy, oil and gas, industrial equipment or another machinery-focused engineering environment.\nExperience designing winches, lifting equipment, masts or other complex mechanical machinery.\nWorking knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic or electromechanical systems.\nExperience with Autodesk Inventor or comparable 3D mechanical CAD software.\nKnowledge of structural or stress analysis, including engineering calculations.\nFamiliarity with relevant engineering standards and regulatory requirements such as API, ASME, ATEX, NORSOK, DNV, PUWER or LOLER.\nAwareness of quality management requirements such as ISO 9001 or API Q1.\nPrevious exposure to manufacturing, product assembly, testing or factory acceptance
