The Design Engineer II will apply advanced mechanical engineering and 3D CAD skills to develop reliable designs, resolve complex technical issues, collaborate across disciplines, and drive continuous product and process improvements.\n Provide engineering support for matters of a complex nature which require innovation and the use of a wide variety of established or new engineering methods and techniques.\nUtilize advanced engineering calculations related to specific design or analytical projects.\nCreate design layouts and detailed component drawings.\nCreate component and system level test plans and test fixtures.\nPerform validation testing and conduct design iterations as required.\nDevelop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner.\nWrite reports which draw appropriate conclusions from project results.\nRecommend purchase of material and equipment after thorough analysis of available sources.\nWork with personnel in other departments and disciplines to complete project assignments.\nMaintains and expands on current knowledge of industry trends and new technologies.\nComplete assignments using established design tools and procedures without significant supervision.\nDevelop action plans for new projects defined by supervisor.\nConsistently produce quality work and recommend areas for improvement.\nAll other duties as assigned.\n B.S. or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 5 years of related design knowledge/experience is preferred. \nExperience with downhole drilling tools is preferred. \nCandidate must be proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software and able to create and/or modify complex models, parts, and assemblies. \nFEA experience is preferred.\nA successful candidate must be a self-starter and be comfortable with hands on assembly and
