NOVA provides ongoing training, certification support, mentorship, and advancement opportunities into senior inspection, special inspection, project management, and engineering support roles.\nAs a CMT Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of construction projects by performing field testing, inspections, documentation, and quality assurance services.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, grout, mortar, and reinforcing steel in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT, and project specifications.\nConduct construction materials testing and inspection services on commercial, transportation, infrastructure, educational, healthcare, and industrial projects.\nObserve construction activities and collect field data on active construction sites.\nReview construction plans, specifications, and testing requirements prior to field assignments.\nDocument testing results, observations, and site conditions using electronic reporting platforms such as Metafield.\nCommunicate testing and inspection results with NOVA project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.\nIdentify and document construction deficiencies, quality concerns, and non-compliant conditions.\nPerform testing and inspection activities in accordance with applicable FDOT, ASTM, ACI, and project requirements.\nMaintain, calibrate, and care for testing equipment in accordance with industry standards.\nSafely work on commercial, transportation, and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Tampa Bay area.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum of 1+ years of experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, construction inspection, geotechnical testing, or related field services.\nACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level I \nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and testing requirements.\nStrong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.\nBasic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic field reports.\nValid driver's license with acceptable driving record.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):\nCandidates possessing one or more of the following certifications are highly desired, but not required:\nFDOT CTQP Certifications:\nFDOT CTQP Concrete Field Technician \nFDOT CTQP Asphalt Roadway \nFDOT CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection\nICC Certifications:\nICC Soils Special Inspector\nICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector\nICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector\nICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector\nICC Structural Welding Special Inspector\nICC Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector\nCheck out our Perks + Benefits:\nIn addition to our welcoming company culture and competitive compensation packages, our employees enjoy the below benefits:\n Use of take-home Company Vehicle and fuel card for daily travel to work sites\nComprehensive group medical insurance, including health, dental and vision\nOpportunity for professional growth and advancement\nCertification reimbursement\nPaid time off\nCompany-observed paid holidays\nCompany paid life insurance for employee, spouse and children\nCompany paid short term disability coverage\nOther supplemental benefit offerings including long-term disability, critical illness, accident and identity theft protection\n401K retirement with company matching of 50% on the first 6% of employee contributions \nWellness program with incentives\nEmployee Assistance Program\nNOVA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
